Whole walnuts nuts are fresh in the shell for up to 2 years when stored in your freezer.  When cracked and stored in the freezer they are delicious for 2 years also and in your fridge they will store well for up to 12 months - who can resist then for that long!  Be sure to put cracked nuts in a sealed container or bag.
